John D. Hebert Jr.

Attorney John D. Hebert Jr. brings five years of experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts for business clients in the real estate, retail, and construction industries. He has structured and closed multi-party asset, stock, and real estate purchase transactions, coordinating due diligence, deal documents, and closing logistics among counsel and business principals. He also drafts formation and governance documents for businesses.

John pairs that transactional work with a civil litigation background in construction, real estate, contract, business, and employment disputes. He has handled cases from pre-litigation through discovery and pretrial, drafted pleadings and motions, taken depositions, negotiated settlements, and served as second chair in two trials. That courtroom experience shapes how he reviews a contract: he looks for the risk early and counsels clients on performance issues before a disagreement becomes a lawsuit.

Before joining Showalter, Colgin & Davis, PLLC, John practiced at The Greenwood Law Firm PLLC in Houston, first as a law clerk and then as a senior associate attorney. He earned his law degree from the University of Houston Law Center and his undergraduate degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Houston.
