Celebrating Sandra Thomas: 15 Years of Heart at Showalter Colgin & Davis

There are people who simply do a job, and then there are people who become the heart of a place. For 15 years, Sandra Thomas was the heart of our Eminent Domain practice area at Showalter Colgin & Davis, PLLC.
Last month, we said a bittersweet goodbye as Sandra began a well earned retirement. Saying goodbye was not easy. When someone gives a decade and a half of dedication, warmth, and steady commitment to a firm, you do not just lose a colleague. You feel the absence of a presence that shaped the daily life of the office in ways big and small.

A Sendoff Worthy of Her
Sandra is a die-hard Houston Astros fan. So, when it came time to celebrate her, there was really only one fitting way to do it: a day at the ballpark, together, as a team.
Thanks to the extraordinary generosity of our friends at ImageNet, we were able to gather as a firm and celebrate Sandra in style, watching the Astros from a suite, surrounded by the people who have worked alongside her for years. There was laughter, there was cheering, and there was a whole lot of gratitude in the air. Sandra was glowing the entire afternoon, and so were the rest of us, watching someone we care about get the celebration she deserved.
Thank You, Sandra
Fifteen years is a long time. It is years of mornings, deadlines, milestones, and countless moments that added up to something meaningful. Through all of it, Sandra brought the kind of dedication and care that cannot be taught, only given freely by someone who genuinely loves the people she works with.
Sandra, thank you for everything you gave to this firm and to each of us. You will be deeply missed, and you leave behind a legacy of warmth that will stay with us long after your final day. We hope retirement brings you rest, joy, plenty of family time, and of course, many more Astros games.
